Acton Ostry Architects Inc. has built an excellent reputation over the years with its clean, powerful designs. Using a West Coast Modernist approach, the firm focuses on new high-density urban projects, as well as the rehabilitation, renovation, and re-use of existing buildings. Their work includes community and recreation centers, places of worship, schools, university buildings, and mixed-use multifamily residences.

The Nisga’a Museum in British Columbia, Canada, is a celebration of the culture and history of the Nisga’a Nation. The design of the building was a true collaboration, and the architect, exhibit designer, and landscape design consultant all used Vectorworks software to bring their visions to life.

As we reflect back on the 1960s, numerous life-changing events come to mind.
Thanks to the Minnesota Historical Society (in partnership with the Atlanta History Center, the Chicago History Museum and the Oakland Museum of California) we can view many of these social changes in The 1968 Exhibit, an extraordinary, state-of-the-art, multimedia exhibit that reveals how the experiences of the year fueled a persistent and often contradictory sense of identity.

A well-known architect and urban designer, Norihiko Dan is also a passionate environmental activist. From 2003-2006, he served under Nagano Prefectural Mayor Yasuo Tanaka as Master Architect, tasked with preserving the environment of Karuizawa, Japan.
